I installed this on
Mercedes-Benz CLK200K
Review
This review is for the shock absorbers only. My car came with the AMG wheel and shorter springs option. This is my feedback after 6 months of use over around 5000kms.
The first thing to note is they are pretty stiff so they are not designed for a confortable ride but toward performance. This is most noticeable at low speed where every bumps and groves can be feel very clearly through the car body. My car is a convertible so the less rigid structure is probably amplifying the effect. My wife fins the car comfortable so it is not big issue.
As soon as the pace increases this tendency vanishes and is replaced by a very confident ride over whatever the road throws under your wheel with a lot of feedback going through the steering. This is especialy true over long bumps where they keep a solid contact between the wheels and the ground. In curves they are also very good at keeping the car on its track with no pumping effect.
What i also found interesting is their contribution to driving power to the ground. Weight transfer happens faster and acceleration is improved.
In order to mitigate the harsh damping at low speed, I may consider another tyre mount. I am now riding on Continental. I had a good experience with Goodyear Eagle F1 assymetric III on my previous car and it may solve part of the issue.
What I like
Superbe performance to price ratio.
Great handling at high speed.
What I do not like
Little harsh at low speed.
