Review
My Focus RS came factory fitted with a "Ford" brand component set. The woofer was plastic and the crossover was a capacity at the tweeter. Not terribly exciting, but ok for a stock set.

My requirement was to get an upgrade for the front comps which has high efficiency, able to be driven by the stock Sony HU, has good-decent bass and good sound quality. I turned to my old installer, Thomas, who recommended this Focal. Having come from previous high-end ICE and home hifi setups, I was a little suspect about this made in China model, but as it was a Focal driver with Thomas' recommendation, I decided to give it a try.

His guys removed the door panel and confirmed that a 6.5" driver will fit. They then installed the wood frame to mount the woofer and a piece of soundproofing material behind the woofer to dampen the metallic sound from the door. Installation was quick, about 30mins and everything was in. The sound quality you get is a function of the quality of the install, because the door panel becomes a part of the speaker.

The sound: it was surprisingly good! Even with the brand new speakers, the sound was very clear and punchy. The one thing that was lacking was the deep bass, but for a 6.5" woofer, it was doing a pretty decent job. After playing with the set for about a week, the mids became fuller and the bass a little more punchy and deep. Overall a more engaging experience. My only caveats are the imprecise soundstaging and the missing sub-40hz range. For the money, a pretty decent set of comps. Recommended.

What I like
Good clarity, not bright, good mid-bass punch, high efficiency.

What I do not like
Mid bass hump - suitable for pop and rock, but not for all kinds of music. Lack of deep bass.
