Ride of the Valkyries: Aston Martin presents the Valkyrie AMR Pro

Following the debut of the revolutionary Aston Martin Valkyrie road car, the British marque has announced its latest evolution: The sensational new Valkyrie AMR Pro.
This purebred race machine takes the basic design of the Valkyrie - engineered to win the Le Mans 24 Hours as its starting point, and pushes the boundaries further to explore the limits of performance, unconstrained by FIA racing regulations or approval for road use.
The original concept proposal, first seen at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, was very much an exercise in squeezing as much performance from the road legal Valkyrie platform. The new Valkyrie AMR Pro's capabilities now exceed those of the machine designed to challenge for outright victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours, having now been freed from the race's rule constraints.
With Aston Martin continuing its technological partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, the Valkyrie AMR Pro promises to be a vehicle of unprecedented potency and mind-blowing capabilities.
It features an aggressive aerodynamic package, and thanks to mastery of underbody and overwing airflow, the AMR Pro delivers significantly more downforce than the Valkyrie road car, being capable of lateral acceleration exceeding 3Gs.
The Valkyrie AMR Pro relies on a modified version of the sensational Cosworth-built 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine. Capable of revving to 11,000rpm, the powerplant is on-target to developing 1,000bhp.
Weight savings, which increase agility and performance, will come from deletion of the battery-electric hybrid system, plus a host of other weight saving measures including ultra-lightweight carbon fibre bodywork, and Perspex windscreen and side windows.
Together with an aerodynamic efficiency that surpasses existing Le Mans Hypercar regulations, the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro delivers track performance approaching that of a Formula One car.
With a target lap time around the 13.6km Le Mans circuit of three minutes 20 seconds, Aston Martin's latest offering indicates blistering performance that would see the Valkyrie AMR Pro battling with the front running LMP1 cars for victory in the world's greatest endurance race.
More details of the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro's specifications will be released later this year.
