2 Mass Flywheel for manual transmission.
Development was structured around the following two points.
Features
Technology in Production
Development was structured around the following two points.
- Being able to efficiently deliver the high torque generated from diesel engines to clutch while also being able to smoothly dampen vibration created at low RPM.
- Development of new processing methods in order to stabilize quality as well as cost competitiveness.
Features
- Improvement of Dampening Performance
In order to decrease the engine vibrations, the dampening springs are arranged in accordance to their torsion characteristics to maximise dampening. - Improvement of the Disconnected Clutch
Rattling of the flywheel has been reduced through the adoption of a large diameter bearing that dampens the resonated vibration while the clutch is disconnected. - Spring Seat and Stopper Structure
High strength resin spring seats employ two functions within the 2 Mass Flywheel. The first is to act as a seat for the torsion spring and to stop its movement as it contracts through large inputs of resonance. The second function is for the resin material to reduce the operating noise.
Technology in Production
- Improvement in manufacturing efficiency and cost reduction through the use of transfer presses where less efficient large presses were initially used only.
- Welding by laser has been employed as there is minimal heat to be used thus creating a stabilised level of quality.
