The MTX Road Thunder Extreme RTX88 is a mid-bass automotive speaker equipped with PA system technology, allowing for concert sound levels inside a car. As a mid-bass automotive speaker, the MTX 8-inch car speaker is intended for use in filling out audio frequencies that are not covered by the tweeters and subwoofers within the vehicle’s speaker system.

The MTX 8-inch car speaker features an 8-Ohm voice coil and a treated paper cone with a diameter of 6.5 inches. A treated cloth surround helps the MTX Road Thunder Extreme RTX88 to retain a strong low-end and prevents air from passing in and out of the speaker cabinet. The MTX 8-inch car speaker handles 25-150 RMS watts of power and is able to be run across a single amplifier channel when installing two of them between two car doors. The automotive speaker has a mounting depth of 2.9 inches and is functional in both a speaker enclosure and free-air application setup. In order to be driven properly, the MTX RTX88 requires an external amplifier, not included.
