Review
I was just shopping for automotive parts, and came across this ARK Design Accelerator Throttle Curve Controller, and found this quite of a cool device. Being someone who likes to try new stuff, I went ahead to buy them and tried them out. What I found was this is actually a useful tool for most drivers, since it has the fuel-saving ECO Drive mode, or for those tracksters or aggressive drivers, they got the SPORTS Mode. I've since turned it to ECO Drive mode, and found that now my throttle responses desirably, like how i wanted it to, always.
What I like
The ability to modify the throttle and how it responses to the gas pedal.
What I do not like
It doesn't look all so fancy as most of the other throttle controllers.
I installed this on
Subaru Impreza
Review
It has three main settings (Normal, Eco, and Sport). It allows you to save two custom modes. The different from normal is quite mild. It's never more than 10% different from the normall setting. 10% throttle opening increments is the max you can do in custom mode. I feel like throttle controllers are somehow redundant if you have an STi, but I feel they come in handy in cars that are't equipped with Si-Drive. I know it's not the same thing but they do achieve similar outcomes. The changes in driving feel on the ARK Design ATCC aren't drastic as Si-Drive. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, and I'd recommend one for WRX owners. It's nice being able to change how the car feels on the fly.
What I like
The different modes are very distinct in how the car feels.
What I do not like
It's not something that's necessary.
