Review
Installed S1evo for 2 years++ now and having travelled 40++k km on them. Tyre still left 30+% driving at speed of 150-180km/hr on NSHW and tyres holds up well. This set of tyres has served well, and the car has never skidded before, be it on dry or wet weather on any speed. Generally I can drive quite fast, but definitely not crazy enough to take a corner at 80km/hr on a raining day.

What I like
Good response
Good traction in wet and dry
Relatively lasting and seems to be able to use until 60000km
Good pricing, my size 205/45r16, bought at $133 per tyre in dec 2011. Now hankook selling $125+ for S1evo 16".
Value for $$

What I do not like
Generally not a quiet tyre, but not as bad as Yokohama S Drive.
Hankook distributor didn't bring in the new S1evo2 for 16"...

Bought these in 225/45/17. Set of 4. Paid about 190 each without GST. Read many good reviews online for this tyre and it was much cheaper than the brands like Michelins so gave it a shot. My car was running Bridgestone RE050s before these, so that is the only yardstick I can compared with. Overall, I would say the RE050s were better in both wet and dry. Many other reviews state that this tyre aquaplanes quite badly, I don't find that it is any worse than the RE050s in this dept though.

What I like
Price. Seems to be fairly lasting.

What I do not like
Grip is wet and dry not as good as Bridgestone RE050.

The S1 Evo2 is already out as of 2014. So no point buying this tyre if you are considering it now. Might be hard to find a replacement if you damage one.

I have to admit that I bought these tyres only because of their low cost price, but I was really pleased with the performance of the tyres. Really good and sticky on the asphalt, balanced road character in dry, reasonably well in the wet, and the wear is unexpectedly good. Aquaplaning is just a bit of issue but I am able to live with it. Obviously its not a benchmark tyre in its class, but honestly with that overall performance, it's a real bargain, and I can easily recommend it to users whom looking for a decent performing budget tyre.

What I like
These are really cheap, and they perform really well on the tarmac!

What I do not like
The design and grooves do prevent aquaplaning great, but driving on wet weather, you will be forced to slow down in any case.

These set of Hankook Ventus S1 Evo are excellent. They give me total confidence in my car, even on the wet. I love the way that when driving home on a wet night, these tyres look after me. If I am going too fast into a corner, the car just goes round with no fuss. Sure the car handles well but the tyres are what holds onto the road. A good sign with these tyres is that the grip is still good on wet roads even when the tread is well worn down. At the tread limit there is a bit of understeering and a bit more noise, but still very predictable handling. So good, in fact I didn't realise how worn the tyres were getting.

What I like
Provides utmost confidence when driving in dry or wet conditions, reasonable traction

What I do not like
Soft sidewalls makes cornering less comfortable eg. roll

For the price, I think the Hankook S1evo delivers above-average dry handling. Pleasantly surprised by its progressive traction. Performance in the wet could be better, though. Handling, braking, and anti-aquaplaning are average, at best.

What I like
Loss of traction is progressive, so you wouldn't fly off the road in a sudden manner. Great for those who like to drive "on the limit" ;)

What I do not like
Not high confidence in the wet. Aquaplanning would pull the vehicle hard to one side, so you'd better hold on tight to the steering if going 70km/h+.

Even though the lifespan is not the longest I have ever had on my car, it's still quite alright. The grip is good on dry tarmac, but I have less confidence to corner at hi speeds when it's wet. The braking distance is quite short and it does not squeal like some other tyres.

I went tracking with these tyres fitted onto my Mazda to push it to the limit. It grips well on dry tarmac and cornering is a breeze, but on wet tarmac, the grip is just slightly less grippy and I found myself slowing down when approaching corners. The sidewalls are acceptably stiff while still being quiet and comfortable. The tread wore out after about 20k (including 4 track days), so I would say that it lasts pretty long.

Currently, using this Hankook S1 evo on my civic. The performance of the tire on wet weather is excellence and confidence. The down side need to warm up before pushing to its limit during wet. On dry, totally splendid to drive and toss around. Side wall is comparable to RE001. Noise level is higher than BS RE001 once past 10K usage. Tire groove is very thick and last longer than RE001. Tire is make in Korea. Got the tire at very reasonable price compare to Michelin, Conti & Bridgestone performance tire.

What I like
Very confidence tire in wet weather. Aqua planning is excellence. It perform better than my expectation.

What I do not like
A little noisy once usage past 10,000km
