Audi A3 Sedan bags 23rd Golden Steering Wheel Award

The all new A3 Sedan by Audi has just become the recipient of one of the most renowned automotive awards in the industry. The Golden Steering Wheel awards presented to the A3 sedan this year was chosen out of 49 candidates, with the winner chosen jointly by the readers of 'Auto Bild' and 'Bild am Sonntag' along with a panel of experts.
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development at Audi AG, took receipt of the award in Berlin earlier this week.
The Audi A3 Sedan came out on top in the 'Middle Class' category. The new Audi A3 Sedan is the first notchback model from Audi in the compact premium segment - and its technology, everyday suitability and comfort impressed readers and jury alike.
Audi maintains its string of successes with this win. It is already the 23rd Golden Steering Wheel for the German premium automaker. No other automaker has achieved this feat in the awards 38-year long history.
'Auto Bild' and 'Bild am Sonntag' have been making the Golden Steering Wheel awards annually to the best new automobiles since 1976. There are six categories of award - Small/Compact Cars, Middle Class, Cabriolets/Coupes, Vans, SUVs, and Upper/Luxury Class.
