Tipper truck stuck in sink hole after ground gives way

A section of Upper Changi Road East caved in this morning and caused a tipper truck to collapse into the ground. The driver of the truck, identified only as Mr. Su, told The Straits Times he was driving towards Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal at 8:30am when he suddenly felt the road giving way.
The truck, which was transporting sand, collapsed into the road, then sunk into the ground. Mr. Su explained the truck was immobile and he quickly climbed out. He was driving alone and wasn't hurt.
The accident occurred 50 metres away from a construction site for the upcoming Downtown Line 3. According to construction workers the local paper spoke to, tunnelling works commenced near the accident site about three months ago.
