The Sumitomo HTR T4 (High Technology Radials, T-Speed Rated, 4-Season design) is Sumitomo's Standard Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of modern coupes, sedans, minivans and crossover vehicles, as well as offers many 70-series sizes for the small 13” and 14” rim diameter sizes often used on vintage sports cars, coupes and sedans. The Sumitomo HTR T4 is designed to combine long wear and good comfort with traction on dry and wet roads, as well as in occasional light snow.
The HTR T4 molds Sumitomo's fine grain carbon black tread compound into a super computer-designed symmetric pattern that features independent notched shoulder and intermediate blocks and a continuous center rib to enhance operation through a variety of weather and road conditions while delivering treadwear, noise and ride comfort. Sipes leading into the tread block notches then connect with four wide, circumferential tread grooves to assist with water drainage thus enhancing all-season traction and hydroplaning resistance.
The HTR T4 tires' internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by Sumitomo's Jointless Nylon Band (JNB) technology featuring spirally wound belt-edge bands to provide long-term durability. A polyester carcass helps decrease ride disturbance to increase ride quality.
