The tyre features three straight grooves which are designed to give quick water dispersion on wet road surfaces, which reduces the risk of aquaplaning. Turbinated sub-grooves also enhance wet weather handling as they offer improved lateral drainage. Hankook has designed the Optimo K406 tyre to have a large footprint, which ensures there is more rubber contacting the road surface, giving better grip.
