Ultra High Performance Summer tyres are for driving enthusiasts who want a combination of a performance appearance, crisp handling and Z-speed rated (or higher) durability along with dry and wet traction. Often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on sports cars, performance coupes and high performance sedans, Ultra High Performance Summer tyres are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice
O.E. Ultra High Performance Summer tyres are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle’s original trres. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tyres’ performance category and specifications.
Tread Life
The higher the treadwear rating, the longer a tyre can be expected to last before it needs replacing. The Dunlop Sp Sport 8090 has a treadwear rating of 280, meaning that it wears rather fast relative to the average modern tyre, which has a treadwear rating of 400.
Wet Traction
This tyre's traction rating of A results in commendable stopping distance in the wet, but keep in mind that over 74% of tyres receive this same rating (17% of tyres are awarded the highest-possible AA rating, only 9% receive a lower B rating, and almost no tyres receive the worst possible rating of C).
Heat Resistance
The best-possible temperature rating of A indicates that this tire is very resistant to heat, maintaining both its performance attributes and structural integrity during extended periods o...
